Mahalakshmi Ashtakam

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam

Mahalakshmi is the Supreme Goddess of Wealth. Mahalakshmi or Lakshmi is the divine consort of Vishnu, the Supreme God of Protection and Sustenance. Lakshmi is revered as the Mother Goddess, who remains the nurturing Divine Mother of all the living beings on earth. Her power and grace can wipe out devotees’ poverty, distress, and suffering and give them prosperity, fertility, abundance, auspiciousness, beauty, joy, and fortune.

‘Lakshya’ means ‘the goal’ in Sanskrit. The ancients thought that the term ‘Lakshmi’ must have emerged only from this word. Hence, it is believed that her blessings can help devotees achieve their aims, objectives, or purpose in life. According to legends, she emerged in all her resplendent glory from the Ocean of Milk, when it was churned by the celestials and the demons for obtaining Amrut, the divine nectar, chose Vishnu as her consort and took abode in his chest itself.

She is highly compassionate, and invoking her blessings can bestow people with a happy, peaceful, and fulfilling life.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam remains a highly auspicious hymn to propitiate this Goddess and earn her divine blessings.

Mahalakshmi Ashtakam
